A Call to Purpose
My name is Anthony Winans. I come from the heart of Detroit, MI, a city known for its resilience, its fight, and its determination. Raised by a single mother, I watched her work tirelessly to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads. We weren’t rich, and some days, just getting by was a struggle. But through it all, I had this fire in me, a deep desire to break the cycle, to create a better life, to be more than what my circumstances tried to dictate.
Growing up in a tough environment, I saw firsthand how easy it was to get lost in the streets, to fall into the traps that so many around me did. But I wanted more. I needed more. And to keep myself from becoming another statistic, I turned to motivation. I clung to words that pushed me forward, to messages that reminded me that struggle wasn’t my final destination. But even with that drive, I spent years searching for my true purpose. I was lost, pretending to have it all together while silently battling with myself.
Then, one morning, everything changed. I felt a weight on me that I couldn’t shake. And in that moment of brokenness, God called me. It wasn’t a gentle whisper; it was a loud and undeniable wake-up call. For the first time, I saw my life for what it was, not what the world made it, but what God intended it to be.
From that day on, I knew my mission was bigger than me. My pain had a purpose. My struggles were shaping me for something greater. I realized that my voice, this gift of speaking, wasn't just for me. It was meant to inspire, to uplift, to help others break free from their own chains.
Now, I live to speak life into others. I’m here to remind you that no matter where you come from, no matter what you’ve been through, your story isn’t over. The struggles, the setbacks, the doubts, they don’t define you. I stand as proof that your past doesn’t determine your future. That pain can be turned into purpose.
